As some of you may have noticed, we took a little break from the world of film the past few weeks as we were settling ourselves in Hawaii. Now that we’re settled, Gary has been watching and reviewing some of the best films of the year. These include both films that have come and gone this year, as well as the most anticipated of the year releasing in the coming weeks, as often the best movies of the year release in theaters in November and December.
With this in mind, and with perfect timing to get you ready for your holiday viewing activities, Gary and I will be back in Dallas toasting the best films of 2017, with their perfect wine pairings, on Monday, December 11 at 6:30pm at the Dallas Arboretum.
If you joined us earlier this year for our “Oscar” preview event, this is somewhat similar with a focus on the top films of this year that will likely be among the top nominees at the 90th Annual Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences Awards on March 4, 2018, a.k.a. “The Oscars.” Though these are only Gary’s predictions, we know his 30+ year career in the industry gives him an inside edge on who the winners will be.
As with all of our “wine and film” events I will pair the films with a selection of national and international wines, each displaying their own artistry and story, while complimenting their paired categories.
Tickets for the event are available here, or through the Dallas Arboretum website with proceeds benefiting the Arboretum.
We hope you will join us for this special evening of the “Best of Wine and Film for 2017!“
And, for fans of our “Cogill Wine and Film, A Perfect Pairing” podcast on reVolver Podcasts, we will be back with new shows on current releases and old favorites, of both wine and film, at the start of the new year. We hope you will join us on our adventure in podcasting then. It is free to subscribe to the show on the reVolver platform, or listen through your favorite podcast app including iTunes, Spotify, IHeartRadio and Google Play Music.
Cheers, and happy holidays,
Gary and Hayley
