I wanted to enjoy “Free State of Jones,” celebrating the rebellious character that actor Matthew McConaughey so easily adapts to in his films. And, as a history lesson, I was intrigued.
However, as a film lover and entertainment seeker, the film left a lot to be desired, especially regarding character development and fleshing out the plot line of this historical character.
